Henri Rousseau Paintings in the Collection
The Dream
The Dream is the most widely represented artwork in the current collection. Painted in 1910, it places a reclining figure within an imagined jungle filled with layered plants, animals and carefully outlined forms.
The design appears across bags, a pillow, hoodie, Hawaiian shirt, skirt, floor mat and round rug. Start with The Dream hoodie for clothing or The Dream floor mat for a larger home accent.
The Sleeping Gypsy
The Sleeping Gypsy was painted in 1897. Its moonlit desert, sleeping figure, musical instrument and watchful lion create a quieter and more spacious composition than Rousseau’s densely planted jungle scenes.
The artwork is available on bags, a hoodie, sweater and floor mat. The Sleeping Gypsy tote bag offers a practical format, while the Sleeping Gypsy hoodie uses the composition across clothing.
Myself and La Guerre
Myself represents Rousseau through a formal self-portrait rather than an imagined landscape. Products based on this work include a T-shirt, hoodie and pillow.
La Guerre, also known as The War, provides a darker and more dramatic alternative. It is currently represented on a tote bag and pillow.
Paris and Eiffel Tower Scenes
The collection also contains pillows based on Paris subjects, including the Seine, sunset and the Eiffel Tower. These designs provide a more urban view of Rousseau’s work alongside his better-known imaginary landscapes.

About Henri Rousseau
Henri Rousseau (1844-1910) was a self-taught French painter whose work attracted attention for its precise outlines, layered shapes and unusual sense of scale. Although he is especially associated with jungle paintings, his work also includes portraits, city views, allegories and scenes of modern Paris.
Rousseau did not travel to the tropical jungles shown in his paintings. He developed these imagined settings using sources available in Paris, including gardens, zoos, museums, publications and his own visual inventions.
